It’s the second quarter of the year, and that means summer days are officially here to heat us again. And for me, summertime is synonymous to beachcapades. Yes, I am a self-proclaimed beach bum. You can say that. I can still remember years ago, my calendar was already fully-booked with summer beachcapades this time of the year. That was during my college days, back when I still have all the time in the world.
I am a working class now, spending at least 8 hours a day at work from Mondays to Saturdays. I do not mean to sound like I am not grateful that I have a job. It’s just that I miss the beach. I miss summertime at the beach. I miss the sun, the sand and the sea breeze. It’s the 10th day of April already and I haven’t gone to the beach yet. And I am getting sentimental about that, especially because my sisters now are having the time of their lives beaching without me.
So, since I'm kinda sentimental right now, I am sharing these beach photos from our 3-day trip to San Remigio, Samal Island, a virgin and deserted beach more than two hours away from Davao City.
Trust me, the place is a paradise.
We stayed in a three-story tree house overlooking the panoramic view of the Davao Gulf and the Davao Oriental Peninsula in the horizon.
We partied, danced and grooved to the restless waves of the sea. There were fireflies while we were night swimming, which showed how harmony and balance is working in San Remigio.

We rented a boat for only Php200 for a whole day trip.
We went to a private beach area where we snorkelled and swam for hours. The corals were magnificent. No wonder it is popular
among tourists for scuba diving. The powdery soft white sand and the crystal clear blue water were amazing too, and r
ock cliffs are fascinatingly everywhere.
You can see in the photo below how tanned we were. We were too excited for the trip that we forgot to bring sunblock. Stupid beach bums. We had a great time tanning ourselves from sunrise to sunset, anyway. Haha!
This 3-day trip happened years ago by the way. I love and miss those times. I hope to come back in San Remigio soon.
